CASA MARMOL

Sometimes it is the most extreme conditions that produce the best results, and this house is a case in point. Located on a cliff 90m above Lake General Carrera and away from everything, the Marble House was a challenge of design (which had to be both simple and sophisticated) and construction (which was to be fast and efficient). With plans, materials and workers ready to go, the mountain surprised us with a large marble rock that was exposed during the excavations for the foundation. It was decided to incorporate this gift into the design, so a sculptor (from Colorado, USA) spent six weeks carefully cutting and polishing the stone, around which the house was built. After three months of a coordinated effort between principals, designers, suppliers and builders, the Marble House received its owners with the best view a house can have.
